Nick Kyrgios has had a pretty tremendous start to the year 2022. The Aussie won his first Grand Slam doubles title at the Australian Open, partnering with long-time friend Thanasi Kokkinakis. The pair got a wild card entry in the doubles main draw and surprised everyone by winning the title.

Currently, Kokkinakis is with Australia’s Davis cup team, preparing to take on Hungary in March. Interestingly, Kyrgios didn’t make the cut for Australia’s Davis cup team and he’s now spending some luxurious time in Sydney, away from home, as he posted a video on social media.

One of the most entertaining players on tour, Nick Kyrgios, is currently enjoying his life in Sydney at a luxurious hotel. After winning the Australian Open doubles title, the Aussie has not played a single match. Yesterday, Nick posted a video on Instagram where he described the beautiful views from his hotel in Sydney.

“Hey guys, just wanted to say thank you to The Star Sydney, always provided me with a home away from home… The view is absolutely sublime. It’s just, when I’m training hard, when I’m in Sydney, to come back to a room makes you feel comfortable. It really does make a difference. I just wanna say, thank you so much, and to many many more memories,” Nick said

What’s next for Kyrgios?

For Kyrgios, the talent was always there for everyone to see. However, that never translated into a deep run at a Grand Slam tournament, until the Australian Open 2022. Despite losing in the second round in the singles event against Daniil Medvedev, Kyrgios maintained his composure in the doubles event to win it with Kokkinakis.

Many thought he got snubbed by the Australian team for the Davis cup tie against Hungary. But Kokkinakis revealed that Kyrgios was not available for selection due to personal reasons. Nick was all set to play at an ATP 250 event in Dallas, but decided to withdraw from the tournament. At the moment, it’s still unclear about his next tournament.

Meanwhile, one thing is pretty clear that Kokkinakis and Nick will team up in future events, trying to win a few more tournaments.
