Rafael Nadal has secured himself a seat at the quarter-final of the French Open 2022. However, it has come with an arduous and long-lasting face-off against them in the fourth round. Tennis expert and legend Chris Evert, had commented on the condition of Rafael Nadal after the match. However, some people interpreted it wrongly, so she has taken to her Twitter to clear the misunderstanding.

Chris Evert clears misunderstanding over calling Rafael Nadal ‘weary’
After the fourth round of the French Open 2022, Chris Evert made observations about Nadal’s state. However, some people perceived it differently, in a negative light. So, she took to her Twitter to clarify the misunderstanding. She tweeted, “So interesting it was taken out of context.. I meant weary in his interview and said because it was a 4 1/2 hr match..” She had commented on how tired Rafa was after the match.

She had stated, “He is sounding weary. There is so much more that comes with being a professional tennis player than playing a match, but he sounded tired.” She had commented on the after-effects of his match with Felix Auger Aliassime in the fourth round, which was a five-set match.
Rafael Nadal at the French Open 2022
Rafael Nadal defeated the Canadian player, but the match was arduous and long. The Spanish player has been suffering through a lot of injuries and playing for such a long time definitely takes a toll. He is scheduled to face the world no.1 and his arch-rival Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals of the French Open.
In addition to that, the match will take place at night. Rafael Nadal has made it clear that it is not his favorite time to play on the clay court.
