He will undoubtedly get the support from his home crowd, but the road to triumph won’t be easy. Darderi is all set to take on the World Number 5, Alexander Zverev in his next match. Coming from a small city, moving to a different country, and then putting himself up to a stage where he could face the superstars of the tennis world wasn’t that easy for this youngster.

Born in Villa Gesell, Argentina and played tennis over there until the age of 10. After that, Luciano Darderi moved to Italy to pursue his tennis career. His parents, Andrea Germino and Luciano Enrique Darderi, always stood beside their kids and helped them pursue their dreams. His father is a former tennis player and his current coach. He was in fact among the best Argentinian tennis players at the end of the ’80s on the courts of the Club Harrods Gath & Chaves.

The old man is currently the coach of two of the brightest prospects of Italian tennis: his sons. His younger son Vito Antonia has also started to make his presence felt at the junior tournaments. His elder son, Luciano Darderi clinched his maiden ATP Tour trophy this year in Cordoba. He’s currently ranked 54 in the world and has been in decent form this year. Darderi has so far recorded a win-loss record of 12-6 this season. Can he create yet another historic moment in his career by causing an upset at the R32 of the 2024 Italian Open?

Well, for that he will need the blessing of his father, Luciano Enrique Darderi. His father has been a key figure in his rapid rise. After becoming the seventh active Italian player on the Tour to become an ATP Tour champion, in an interview with the ATP Tour he spoke about the key figures in his life.

“Working together for the same dream” – Luciano Darderi on the role of his father in his life

After a dominating performance at this year’s Cordoba Open, Luciano Darderi thanked all the key figures of his life. “In my tennis career, I have to highlight above all my dad, who has been with me since I was a little boy. We have been working together for the same dream. And I have never had any other coach than him,” Luciano Darderi. He further went on to mention a few other names who have made an enormous contribution to his life.

He is surrounded by some extremely talented individuals. Like for example, Darderi’s trainer, his younger brother, and his girlfriend, Brianna Guagliardo, who is a very famous model and dancer. Referring to the same bumch of people, Darderi said, “Then there are many people who have joined my team, and who have helped me throughout my career. Like my girlfriend Brianna, my physical trainer, my manager, my mum and my whole family, including my [16-year-old] brother Vito, who hopefully in a few years can also be with me on the Tour“.

Now, it’ll be interesting to see if Luciano Darderi can really dance across the mighty German challenge in the next round of the Italian Open.
