Jannik Sinner‘s recent injury scare continues to persist! It hasn’t been long since the Italian tennis star announced his withdrawal from the ongoing tournament in Madrid. While everyone was expecting to see him unleash his dominance on the clay court, he shared a disappointing update by announcing his exit from the tournament before the quarter-final match against Felix-Auger Aliassime.

According to the reports, the young champ suffered from a hip injury which started to become more disturbing than it seemed to be. While everyone expected that he would heal soon enough to come back stronger, the tennis star extended the period of disappointment by announcing his withdrawal from the upcoming Italian Open.

The tennis star himself came forward to explain the reason behind this tough decision. “It is not easy to write this message but after speaking again with the doctors and specialists about my hip problems I have to announce that unfortunately I will not be able to play in Rome,” he said, expressing his sadness for missing the tournament.

“Obviously I’m very sad that I didn’t recover, it being one of my favorite tournaments ever. I couldn’t wait to come back and play at home in front of the Italian crowd,” he said, revealing the weight on his chest on missing the tournament.

While fans know for sure that he won’t be a part of the roster in Rome, it still remains to be seen if he manages to undergo a complete recovery before Roland Garros. With both Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz missing out on the upcoming clay court tournament, it sure seems to be a positive sign for Novak Djokovic.

The Serb, who has been keeping himself out of the scene for a long time, is looking forward to resuming his run from the upcoming Italian Open. While he struggled throughout the season and wasn’t able to secure even a single win so far, the fact that he would face lower levels of competition makes it easier for him to end the victory drought.
