Roddick himself was unaware of a plot that finalized his name as Jan, a ‘The Office’ character’s child’s father. Fans of the show spent decades trying to figure out who Jan’s partner was as the plan got called off. The show’s team was supposed to drop the former World No 1’s name as the father, but they later decided to keep it a mystery. “No, I didn’t know any of that,” Roddick confessed in August this year while speaking to Page Six.

Thereafter, he added, “I knew Jenna and her husband Lee [Kirk] back in the day, and they knew that I was a huge fan of the show. As far as that storyline goes, I woke up in the morning and had a bunch of texts on my phone.”

“It’s confusing to [hear] someone describing that storyline while also assuming you know about it.” The episode which disclosed that Jan, who while still in a relationship with Michael Scott, conceived someone else’s child through sperm donation, aired in 2008 as a season finale. However, because of last-minute alterations, the Roddick plan was terminated.
