Rafael Nadal opens up…

Like many, Rafael Nadal, too, is concerned about the current situation between the two countries. Before playing against Daniil Medvedev, Rafa expressed his take on the matter.

“I don’t want to talk about culprits or what the problem is, but in the century we are in, it seems incredible to me that there are wars. It escapes my head in every way. I hope it ends as soon as possible. It’s devastating news,” Rafael Nadal stated (Google Translate).

Incidentally, Medvedev has never won this trophy before, and hence, he would like to change that stat. But in order to do so, he must see past the 21-time Grand Slam champion.

However, that may be difficult for Daniil, as Rafa has a greater head-to-head record (4-1) against the Russian tennis player. Recently, the Spaniard beat Medvedev at the Australian Open final, in a really tough match. Not to mention, Rafa also beat Medvedev in the US Open final in 2019.

Now, as they meet again, do you think Medvedev will get the better of Nadal, or will history repeat itself? Let us know in the comments below.
