Praising Nadal, Federer said,
He also spoke about Nadal’s victory: “I didn't watch the final, I watched the quarter-final (against Djokovic) a bit before I went to sleep. In general, it's just unbelievable what Rafa has achieved. The record of Pete Sampras, which I beat, was 14 Grand Slam titles.” (5/6)

Conversing with the journalist, he also asserted that he has been impressed by Nadal’s run at the French Open much before his 14th title.
“Now Rafa won the French Open 14 times. That's unbelievable. I was happy for him that he did it again. Hats off to Rafa. After the tenth, eleventh time, I already thought: This can't be. He keeps raising the bar. It's gigantic.” (6/6)

The on-court engagements of Nadal and Federer
Following his quarterfinal loss to Hubert Hurkacz at last year’s Wimbledon, Roger Federer went for a surgery on his right knee. Being out of the tour ever since then, Federer is eyeing a comeback later this year. While he is expected to make a comeback at the Laver Cup, he will be making his official comeback to the tour at the Swiss Indoors Basel.

On the other hand, Nadal has been dominating the game ever since the start of the season. Winning the Australian Open and the French Open, next in line for the Spaniard, is Wimbledon. However, looking at his foot condition, his presence at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club remains an unanswered question.
