Boris Becker was further sentenced to jail for two and a half years for concealing nearly £2.5 million in cash, shares, and property. The former German tennis player reportedly concealed his million worth of assets and loans in order to avoid paying debts.

However, Becker was recently approved for a fast-track scheme that will get him deported to his home country, Germany. The 6-time singles Grand Slam champion reportedly will be deported from the UK in order to ease the pressure on British prisons. However, prior to his deportation from the UK, Becker had a visit from his 28-year-old son, Noah in prison.

The former Wimbledon champion’s girlfriend, Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro, also gave a surprise visit to him. They were spotted near Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire where Becker is serving his imprisonment. Prior to his deportation, Becker’s former spokesperson stated, “We are pleased for Boris that he may qualify for an early release and be able to travel to Germany, albeit England has been his home for many, many years. “

“I’m sure it will mean a lot to him and his family to be reunited for Christmas.” the spokesperson further said.

Novak Djokovic on Becker’s imprisonment

The Serbian tennis legend revealed that he was “heartbroken” when he found out his former coach was sentenced to jail. Novak Djokovic went on to say that Becker was not only a great coach but also has been a close friend.
