Winning the first grand slam of your career in tennis is certainly a big deal for any player. It was the same for Jannik Sinner as he lifted his first grand slam trophy with the Australian Open 2024 title. This win was not only important for him but also for his nation as it was the first time in decades the name of an Italian was etched on a trophy of this scale.

So certainly, along with the title, keeping the trophy close to him also matters a lot to Sinner. He was recently seen carrying his Australian Open trophy along with himself while traveling.

Jannik Sinner keeps his winning trophy close even while traveling

One Jannik Sinner fan posted on their Twitter channel how they saw the young player carrying his Australian Open trophy when boarding a flight. In fact, he did not give this trophy with the rest of his luggage but kept it with himself and added it to his carry-on.

The fan posted, “His carry-on bag being the actual Australian Open trophy (!) made the electronics and liquids in my tray look very unimpressive.”

It seems like he is very possessive and protective of his trophy which is why he kept it so close. Owing to the same post, a lot of his tennis fans also reacted.

One of the first comments was, “This is so damn iconic. Did you get a chance to say anything to him?” The fans were eager to know if he talked to the person who posted his photo while boarding the flight.

Another comment was, “Iconic”, pointing to the fact that he was truly a player from the heart if he is taking it up to carry the trophy with him. It certainly shows this means a lot to him.

A fan also commented, “Cute! I hope he is on the way to see his family.” Fans were not only interested in his on-court performance but also hopeful that he gets to meet his family after being away for so long.

Some fans also questioned, “Where’s the Louis Vuitton case?”. Since the trophy was presented in an LV case, the fans wanted to know where it was and if Sinner would get that too.

The last comment was, “Good afternoon with this hand luggage sighting hahahahahah. Sinner is still a young dreamer!”

Tennis fans also wrote how they feel that Sinner is still a dreamer given that he is in such initial stages of his career. Plus this being his first slam, it obviously means everything to him at this point.
