Jannik Sinner stepped up near the end of the season and showed the world why he is considered one of the leaders of the next generation. His performance in the Davis Cup was a testament to his talent. Watching him take revenge from Novak Djokovic, the childhood coach of Serena Williams, praised the Italian youngster as he took his country to a trophy.

Macci has praised Jannik Sinner’s ability on several occasions. The 22-year-old has enamored the 68-year-old with his tennis skills and has effectively become one of the stars who is followed by the legendary coach.

Before Sinner started his career as a tennis professional, he was involved with Skiing. He even won a national skiing championship when he was eight. He also played tennis and football with the sport and eventually decided to put all his eggs in the tennis basket. His efforts proved fruitful as he helped his country win their second Davis Cup title and their first since 1976. 

Watching him demolish players in the tournament, Rick Macci was impressed. On his official ‘X’ page, he wrote, “The fact that @janniksinwas a DOWNHILL skiing champion as a kid with unreal Agility Mobility and Stability will help him Slide Glide in Stride UPHILL as professional champion.”

Sinner played well to reach the ATP Final without a loss. Additionally, he helped his country overcome Novak Djokovic’s challenge after Italy lost the first match against Serbia. His win, with a bagel in the second set, won Italy their second Davis Cup title. His performance has improved in the last few months and will only increase as time goes on.
