Anna Kalinskaya wasn’t present for Jannick Sinner’s semi final loss to Carlos Alcaraz at Roland Garros. But she made sure to support his boyfriend after he posted a message on Instagram. It was only at the French Open, a few weeks ago, that Sinner confirmed his relationship with the Russian tennis star and now he finds her comforting him after a painful exit from the tournament.

The 2024 Australian Open winner replied to his girlfriend’s comment with two emojis- one a face holding back tears and another a kiss emoji.

Earlier, Kalinskaya was there for Sinner when he played his second round against Richard Gasquet. Even though she didn’t make any comments on their relationship, she cheered him on. Speaking after the match, she said, “If we are together, I will be happy to go and cheer, especially if I have some free time.”

The Russian tennis player is busy in her homeland owing to family commitments. She has been posting updates to her Instagram in recent days where she is seen spending time with her brother, who plays soccer. One of the images, she shared features the WTA player lounging on plush patio seats with her brother seated next to her.

Sinner appeared on course for a second Grand Slam final this year, when he won the first set. Alcaraz rallied to level the match, but the Italian once again went ahead. However, the Spaniard fought back from two sets down to book his place in the final, winning, 2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. Kalinskaya also competed at the French Open this year in the women’s doubles, but went out in the second round.

It was previously rumored that the couple was dating after they were seen spending time together before the current French Open tournament. Sinner then revealed that he was with the WTA player after his first round win.

The world No. 25 and the Australian Open champion were spotted out to dinner together last month, and they both trained at the same tennis club in Italy. During a portion of Sinner’s French Open match against Christopher Eubanks, Kalinskaya was also sighted on Court Suzanne-Lenglen, adding fuel to the rumors of them dating.

After his first round win over Eubanks, Sinner confirmed his relationship Anna Kalinskaya. Speaking after the match he said, “I’m with Anna [Kalinskaya], yes, but we keep everything very confidential; you know my confidentiality… I won’t say more.”

Despite his semi final defeat, Sinner is set to be at the top of the ATP rankings, due to Novak Djokovic’s withdrawal from the quarterfinals of the French Open. Though he would loved to add another Grand Slam to his name.

For now, he has the comfort of knowing his girlfriend will be at his side as he looks to bounce back from the latest setback.
