Argentine tennis star Juan Martin del Potro has been one exceptional player on the Tour. However, he has been troubled by injuries throughout his career. Despite his struggles, the big man has always found a way to return to winning ways.

After overcoming struggles time and again, del Potro has decided that it is finally time for him to hang up his boots. He has given hints recently and revealed that his appearance in Buenos Aires could be his last on a tennis court.

There is an interesting update with regard to his final stint in action. For the first time ever, Juan Martin del Potro’s mother will be attending a match to see her son compete. His mother Patricia will watch Juan’s match against Federico Delbonis on Tuesday evening.

A couple of days ago, the former US Open champion stated, “I always overcame everything. I don’t want to close the door. I’m very excited because I love tennis. Today I have to be honest so as not to give the wrong message, although in two and a half years I gave messages that were not in line with my reality. If I’m honest I have to say that I’m not here for a miraculous comeback like on other occasions. I know the limitations I have physically, and we’ll see later.”

Reflecting on Juan’s career, he was the first player to beat Federer and Nadal in the same slam in order to win his first Grand Slam title. He has been a great asset to this sport and we wish him all the best for what could be his final tournament on the Tour.
