Novak Djokovic started this year on a controversial note. The 35-year-old could not participate in the Australian Open amidst strict vaccination guidelines. While many experts believe that it was unfair to the Serb. A few argue that no one is larger than the law of the nation.

It has been quite some time since the incident now. The Serb is currently basking in the glory of his recent Wimbledon Championship 2022 title. Meanwhile, a fan dug out Martina Navratilova’s take on the situation and called her out on Twitter.
The former American tennis star was quick to respond and gave a befitting reply to the hate comment.

A Twitter user who was not happy with Navratilova’s “Go home” comment for Novak Djokovic, earlier this year in the Australian Open, attacked her on Twitter. Calling her out for the comments, he also expressed his disappointment. Further, he made a remark that she fed Novak to the wolves in Australia.

The 65-year-old was quick to point out that she has got nothing to do with the rules and regulations of the Australian Government.
Apparently Novak and I can agree to disagree but you can’t. Nice hyperbole though. As if I had anything to do Australian rules and laws. But you just go on hating, I hope it makes you feel better about yourself:)

Novak Djokovic claims his first Grand Slam title of the season
Although it was a disappointing year for the Serb by far, his fortunes changed in the Wimbledon Championship of 2022. From the very start of the grass-court Grand Slam, Djokovic was in superb form. Starting it from where he left it last year, the 35-year-old was rampant in his campaign.

He defeated Nick Kyrgios of Australia in four sets to clinch his fourth Wimbledon title in a row. With this, he now has in total of seven Wimbledon titles. Also, he now stands only one short of Rafael Nadal‘s 22 Grand Slam titles.

With his stern stand against vaccination, it seems highly unlikely for the 35-year-old to participate in the upcoming US Open.
