It has been almost six days since Valentine’s Day. However, love is still in the air but in a distinct flavor. Yesterday marked 18 years since Andy Murray‘s first ATP Tour-level title victory at the SAP Open in San Jose. But more than the epic feat in 2006, it was the celebration of victory by Andy Murray which had caught the headlines. Fans are now coming out in numbers to troll the 19YO Murray’s embarrassing moment from the past.

In 2006, Murray defeated Australian tennis star, Lleyton Hewitt by 2-6,6-1,7-6 to clinch his maiden title at the ATP Tour. But after the victory, he ran straight to the stands to celebrate his victory with his then-girlfriend, Kim Sears, and kissed her on the lips.

9 years after tying the knot with each other, Andy Murray had jokingly offered an apology to his wife, Kim Sears. Recently, that old clip resurfaced on the internet yet again. And here’s what embarrassed Murray wrote on his Instagram stories relating to that incident. “Huge apologies to my now wife for whatever I was doing to her mouth there… If I was on the receiving end of that I would have dumped me on the spot!

Speaking on this incident, several fans have now come out to troll the British tennis star. Highlighting the moment, a fan wondered what was that kiss with five ‘shocked’ emojis.

While the other put that moment among the Top 5 worst kisses he had ever seen in his life.

A few of them predicted it to be his first kiss.

Some of them even went a little further and hilariously trolled him stating it seems to be his first ATP title win as well as the first kiss for Andy Murray.

Others lashed out saying the kiss wasn’t as perfect as his gameplay.

Andy Murray is currently having a tough run on the Tour. He hasn’t yet won a match in this year. The former world number one has lost his last six matches stretching back to October last year. The British tennis star will next face France’s Alexandre Muller in his opening match at the Qatar Open later on today. 

But before that let’s have a look at the moment when Andy Murray heaped praise on his wife for her constant support through thick and thin.

During an interview with the Telegraph almost 5 years ago, Andy Murray reflected on the support he received from his wife throughout his career. He said she is “very understanding of everything” and further went on to add, “Like going away for training blocks in Miami after a really long year and things like that.

It might not seem like much but we don’t get to see each other all of the time and it does make a big difference when you don’t have that, like, drama in your personal life and lots of things going on away from the court. She has been brilliant like that, allowed me to pursue my career and been unbelievably supportive of me doing that. So, I’ve been very lucky,” Andy Murray.

Recently, the 36YO faced quite a lot of questions about his retirement. However, Murray has openly admitted that he can do whatever he wants and doesn’t care about what others tell him.
