The power couple of tennis, Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina is soon becoming official. The pair have been dating for the past two years and got engaged in April this year. Monfils shared a post on his social media handles on Thursday, announcing it as the last day of Elina as his fiancé.

Gael and Elina have been the sweethearts of the tennis world, sharing a beautiful relationship. Monfils proposed to her in April while the couple was vacationing in Switzerland.

Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina have been together for the past two years but had briefly ended their relationship earlier this year. However, the couple got back together within two months, splitting in February and getting back in April.

Gael dropped the good news on Thursday about their wedding by mentioning it will be their last day as fiancés. The wedding could quite possibly take place on Friday, consequently declaring them and Mr. and Mrs. Monfils.

Monfils and Svitolina in 2021

Apart from the personal issues the couple has faced this year, their professional careers have not boomed in the way they would like to. The two players have not won any titles this year, consequently falling in their ATP and WTA rankings.

Gael has been on a terrible run of form with a poor 3-9 win-loss record this year while Elina has still maintained a decent 23-13 win-loss record. Gael will not be featuring at this year’s Tokyo Olympic Games, however, Elina will feature at the event.
