‘Laughing Unbelievable for Two Minutes’ – Novak Djokovic Once Teamed Up With Viktor Troicki to Hilariously Troll Shakira and Rafael Nadal’s ‘Gypsy’

Novak Djokovic is known for his humorous antics on-court over the years. His mimicking skills have been praised by many, while the former World No. 1 continues to entertain crowds across the world.

However, the 35-year-old has been embroiled in controversies of late, even receiving boos from certain sections of fans. This doesn’t stop Djokovic from continuing to hone his skills in mimicry.

Djokovic teams up with Troicki to replicate ‘Gypsy’

In an old video from 2010, Djokovic and his Serbian teammate Troicki recreated the video from Shakira’s song. The song also features none other than the 22-time Grand Slam champ Rafael Nadal. The Serbian spoke about the video with Troicki.

He is quoted saying, “Gypsy. Oh, my God. I’ve seen it. My brother sent me. I’ve seen it last night, or it was this morning before the match. It make me relax a little bit. You know, I was nervous before the match, and then I was laughing unbelievable for two minutes.”

“We are very proud. I haven’t spoken to Nadal still what he thinks about it. I think he would be proud of my performance of Shakira,” he added.

Djokovic, earlier imitated service motions of Nadal, Andy Roddick and Maria Sharapova during the 2007 US Open. Since then, the ‘Djoker’ has developed a reputation.

Novak Djokovic hopes to overtake Federer

After reaching all 4 Grand Slam finals in 2021, the Serbian has struggled massively this season. He equaled Federer’s tally of 20 Slams with a victory at Wimbledon last year. However, this season his only title came in Rome after a dominant performance throughout the week.

Moreover, Federer has been absent for nearly a year from competitive action. His last major win came back in 2018 at the Australian Open. However, since then he has barely featured on the tour and fallen out of the Top 40 in the ATP rankings.
