Rafael Nadal Foundation is on the verge of winning its first Laureus Sports Award

With its diverse programs, the Rafael Nadal Foundation stands out as a ray of hope committed to improving underprivileged communities. The foundation’s significant effort has been recognized with a nomination for the esteemed Laureus Sport for Good award. With operations in Spain and India, the charity empowers over 1,000 at-risk adolescents through sports and education.

Other noteworthy projects that make major contributions to their communities are also nominated for this prestigious award, such as Bola Pra Frente, ISF Cambodia, Dancing Grounds, Justice Desk Africa, and Obiettivo Napoli. Apart from its primary objective, the Foundation has broadened its scope to include partnerships with other organizations to assist young children and their goals.

In 2020, the foundation and the Laureus Sport for Good program formed a noteworthy cooperation. Notwithstanding the unparalleled obstacles posed by the worldwide COVID-19 outbreak, both institutions persisted in their unwavering dedication to transforming lives.

When Nadal’s foundation collaborated with Laureus Sport

After the lockdown limitations were released in 2020, the Rafael Nadal Foundation began its efforts to support young people and their families, with the goal of reintroducing them to physical activity and helping them overcome any remaining fears. A Laureus Academy member at the time, Martina Navratilova, commended Nadal for his inspirational work on and off the court.

The 59-time Grand Slam champion stated, “Rafa has been an inspiration to us all for his phenomenal efforts on and off the court. At Laureus Sport for Good, we are proud to work in collaboration with the Rafa Nadal Foundation, using sport to improve the lives of vulnerable young people.”
