They have fought multiple matches together and have pushed each other to become the best version of themselves. Djokovic looked back at Federer’s legacy and talked about how he would want his retirement to be.

Novak Djokovic wishes for a similar farewell as that of Roger Federer
The Serbian player was all tears at the farewell of his arch-rival ,Roger Federer. The duo have shared a long legacy of iconic rivalry where they have faced each other 50 times. Bidding farewell to a great competition is something that proved difficult for Djokovic. He complimented the player and said, “It has been an epic career. He has left a legacy and mark that will be eternal.”

He said, “Roger transcended sport. He is one of the most recognized athletes of all time.” The player got emotional seeing Federer’s family during his farewell. He said, “I must say I was thinking how it will look for me when I say goodbye.” He wished to have his family and his loved ones be there with him during his farewell. However, he also wanted to replicate one more thing from Federer’s farewell.

He said, “I would love to have my biggest rivals there because it was something special and added importance to that moment.” At Federer’s farewell, Tennis legends like Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, and Novak Djokovic were also present.
The Big 3 who defined tennis
Tennis became a world-renowned sport and players like Nadal, Djokovic and Federed have brought immense popularity to the sport. Their sophisticated rivalry and mutual respect for each other set a precedent for other sports’ rivalries too. During Federer’s farewell, we could see how both Nadal and Djokovic were emotional.
