Siniša Mihajlović and Djokovic have been good friends for a long time. Last year, just before his demise, he was there by his friend’s side. Now, almost a year later, his brother opened up about how the world number one tennis player left his family behind to be his friend.

He said, “One person, perhaps no one, can be next to the one who is being treated for such diseases. And Nole, I think he was traveling to Spain and he landed in Bergamo on that way to Spain, he left his family, his wife and children waiting on the plane while he went to Sinisha in the hospital. That’s another thing that really speaks to Novak’s greatness as a man.” 

Dražen Mihajlović also talked about how, rather than worrying about the disease, the 36-year-old tennis titan was so down to her that it was just unbelievable. This was the first time he met Djokovic, and he was quite shocked looking at how, even though he had a flight to Spain, where his family was, he took some time for his brother.

A few months ago, a little fan of the Serb shared a heartwarming tweet in which he revealed a surprise act when he paid a visit to the fan’s house, leaving the whole tennis world in awe. The young fan talked about how the world’s number-one-ranked tennis player deserves the best.

Along with that, he also described his personality in the caption. He wrote, “By coming to my humble home, you have shown me respect as you do to your own brothers.” These remarks presented an entirely different viewpoint on how Djokovic differs greatly from his supporters. The Nole fan also sent him some incredible photos of himself grinning broadly, as he had the best chance to meet his idol in tennis.
