‘Licking My Lips Playing That Guy’- American Star Frances Tiafoe’s Cheeky Swipe at ‘Greek Yogurt’ Stefanos Tsitsipas After Their Laver Cup 2022 Encounter

Frances Tiafoe is at top of his game at the moment. After his astounding run at the US Open, the American is performing his best at the Laver Cup. He defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas and the victory is not going unnoticed. His victory astounded him as well, and he expressed his delight in playing and winning the match against him.

Frances Tiafoe shocks Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Laver Cup

The American player did not hide the delight of his victory over the Greek player. He rated himself highly for his performance against Tsitsipas, saying, “I couldn’t place it right now for you. But it’s definitely up there.” He understood the emotions behind the victory and the meaning it carried for the team captain, John McEnroe. Tiafoe said, “I mean, to do it here in Laver Cup, win for the first time, how bad Mac wanted it, how bad everybody else wanted it.”

He complimented his fellow teammate Felix Auger-Aliassime and Jack Sock. He said, “Seeing what Felix did and Jack. It was time to get it done.” Felix Auger-Aliassime shocked Serbian star Novak Djokovic in straight sets. Tiafoe and Sock defeated the legendary duo of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the doubles match.

Tiafoe expressed his excitement to have a face-off against the Greek player and said, “I see Stef across the court and, I’m licking my lips playing that guy. I want to win. So, yeah, I’m just happy I got over the line. We just like Greek yogurt, so it was good.”

Tiafoe compliments Tsitsipas

Displaying true sportsmanship, Tiafoe complimented his opponent Tsitsipas. He said, “It just makes a bit of sense when I play Stef, so I just like the match, he’s a hell of a player. And he’s done well for so long.” He was glad to have an opportunity where he could test himself against a player who has been a top-tier player for a long time. He said, “Yeah, I just want to see where my level is at when I play against him. He’s a tough cookie, so it was good to get over the line.” Team World clinched the Laver Cup with the commendable teamwork of the players.
