Jannik Sinner has had a staggering 2021 season. The Italian captured on 4 ATP titles, subsequently breaking into the top 10 rankings. Sinner replaced Matteo Berrettini after he suffered from an abdominal injury. Sinner won his opening match against Hurkacz but fell short against an enthralling match against Daniil Medvedev.

Despite having an extraordinary season this year, Jannik Sinner couldn’t qualify for the 2021 Nitto ATP Finals. However, destiny had other plans for the Italian. After an unfortunate exit of Matteo Berrettini, Sinner filled his shoes at the ATP Finals. Notably, the 20-year-old triumphed at his opening match against Hubert Hurkacz.

Sinner faced the US Open 2021 champion, Daniil Medvedev, in his second match. The World No. 1 heavily dominated in the first set and won it 6-0. However, Sinner fought back in the second set and won the tie-breaker 7-6 (7-5). In the deciding third set, both the players were playing their best games.

At one point, Jannik Sinner had two crucial match points, but he was unable to capture them. In the end, Medvedev conquered the match. However, the Russian, as well as the crowd, was amazed by the kind of performance Sinner displayed.
