Admirers of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic, have argued for years now, regarding one of the biggest debates going on in the tennis circuit. And even today, there is still a lot of debate going on regarding who should be considered the greatest tennis player of all time. But hold on, John McEnroe might have found a simple solution to settle the GOAT debate in tennis.

In addition, the seven-time Grand Slam champion, who has witnessed the three players’ journeys on the tennis court, shared a unique insight while making his ultimate bet for the greatest.

In a recent interview with Eurosport, the 64-year-old tennis player talked about the ongoing clay-court tournament. And while talking about the Serbian tennis players’ amazing run, the seven-time Grand Slam champion believes that he has “a lot of guts” to be considered the greatest to ever play the sport, considering his Grand Slam titles and the way he has looked up to the sport.

Not only that, he also found a way to settle the whole debacle. He said, ” I think that takes a lot of guts in itself to say ‘I want it’ rather than just say ‘I want to do the best I can and whatever happens happens’. At the moment for me, Nadal is the greatest player that has ever lived on clay. Novak would be the same on hard courts. Roger on grass, even though Djokovic has beaten Roger a few times at Wimbledon.”

In addition, he also talked about how the world’s number two-ranked tennis player is all about focusing on his game. Djokovic has advanced to the quarter-finals of the tournament and is eying to clinch his 23rd Grand Slam title at the French Open.

Nevertheless, this is not the first time that the American tennis legend has chosen Djokovic as the tennis GOAT in his eyes.

When McEnroe talked about Djokovic hunger to be the ‘GOAT’ 

In an interview with Eurosport, just before the Australian Open earlier this year. McEnroe talked about the Serbian tennis player’s hunger to go for more Grand Slams. He stated that among the big three tennis stars, Djokovic is the one who is particularly hungry and has a clear feeling to be the greatest in the sport and hold the most Grand Slam titles.
