After his recent triumph in the Cincinnati Open, Novak Djokovic has once again proven that he is in a league of his own. In a three-hour-and-49-minute-long encounter in Ohio, it was the Serbian tennis legend who exacted revenge against the young Spaniard, Carlos Alcaraz. Despite getting fatigued by the heat and humidity, which also forced him into a medical timeout, the 36-year-old astonishingly outperformed his 16-year junior opponent. However, that hasn’t stopped his critics from labelling him as ‘too old’. Jelena, the Djoker’s wife, recently had the perfect message for such haters.

Taking heed of his uncanny prowess and personality at the age of 36, the current world No. 2 is now being viewed as a “freakish human algorithm” in the Artificial Intelligence era. However, despite these bold assertions, Jelena Djokovic recently penned a heartfelt yet hilarious message for her tennis star husband’s critics who referred to him as an “oldie”.

Jelena’s cheeky message for Novak Djokovic ahead of the US Open

The 37-year-old recently came across an article by the journalist Caira Conner, who lavishly praised Novak Djokovic ahead of his campaign in New York. In addition to her publication for New York Magazine, Intelligencer, Conner also took to Twitter to hail the Serb as the “perfect GOAT” in the AI era.

In light of his hard-fought victory against Alcaraz in Cincinnati, she asserted how the 36-year-old has now become a “freakish human algorithm” akin to an AI’s mechanism. Her bold ‘AI’ assertions about the ATP legend caught the attention of his wife, Jelena.

Conner’s Tweet received a cheeky response from the 37-year-old who indrectly mocked her tennis legend husband’s critics for calling him an “oldie”. While expressing her gratitude towards the journalist, Jelena said, “#nottoobad for an oldie 🤭 #Nolefam 🥰 Thanks Caira!”

Djokovic’s uncanny prowess and game style is already being compared to an AI mechanism ahead of the US Open. And it is quite justified as the Serb is on the verge of pulling off a remarkable ‘Grand Slam’ feat during the tournament in New York.

Djokovic is one major triumph away from equalling an impressive record

After his return to American soil, the ATP second-seed has been set up for a matchup against an unseeded player in the US Open. In the opening round, Djokovic, who has already marked three triumphs in the hard-court major, will face the French tennis player Alexandre Muller.

If he succeeds in his quest in New York, the current world no.2 will have a record-equalling 24 major titles in his bag. With 23 Grand Slam triumphs, the Serb is currently tied with Serena Williams in second place behind the Australian tennis veteran, Margaret Court.
