Madrid Open: Daniil Medvedev’s 1-YO Daughter Grabs Limelight on Her Debut as All Cameras Point Toward Her

The clay court of Madrid is currently witnessing the former world number one, Daniil Medvedev blazing through it. After his back-to-back victories in the tournament, Medvedev is due to play his next quarter-final match tomorrow. However, during his last victory, a special guest in the audience caught the attention of the tennis world. It is none other than Medvedev’s daughter, little Alisa!

Daniil Medvedev’s one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Alisa, made her debut in her father’s latest match accompanied by her mother, Daria. While Medvedev commanded attention on the court, his toddler daughter attracted fans off of it! In an adorable moment, Alisa and her mother were seen cheering for Medvedev on-court.

Another video captures the kid, curious and enthusiastic after watching her father play, laughing, and having a great time. Screaming with joy, Alisa points to her mother, who is seen sitting in her chair above her. This also caught the attention of Medvedev, whose eyes often wandered into the audience to look for his daughter. Even after winning the match, Medvedev glanced at her daughter and shared a silent moment of celebration with her.

Alisa, who was born on October 14, 2022, has also previously accompanied Medvedev in his practice sessions before his fifth appearance in the Madrid Open. Capturing this moment, Medvedev’s wife shared a sweet moment on her Instagram story, with a picture of herself with her daughter, watching the tennis star play. Even during the Indian Wells and the Miami Open tournaments, Medvedev brought his wife and little Alisa with him.

Apart from tennis moments, the family is often seen enjoying vacations and spending time together. However, Daniil Medvedev also recently shared the complexities that come with being a professional tennis player and a responsible father. And adding to that, he also revealed one change he wants to embrace after being a father.

Daniil Medvedev wants to be more “mature” as a father

Daniil Medvedev, who married Daria in 2018, expressed how his wife has helped him reach heights in his career while also staying in touch with his daughter. Medvedev shared how “it is not easy with tennis” and stated Daria’s sacrifice in constantly traveling with him owing to his tournaments.

Speaking of what being a dad is like, “As a player, I don’t think (fatherhood) has changed me, to be honest. But hopefully, it helps me mature a little bit. Many times I’m still immature on the court, but I feel like I’m improving slowly every year. That’s my goal,” Medvedev said.

He further added, “In life, hopefully, it made me more mature also, more responsible. It’s a big responsibility for sure, to be a father.” And as Daniil Medvedev continues his progress on-court, fans are hopeful to see more of this father-daughter duo on and off the court.
