Some high-intensity action is set to unleash in Madrid as Andrey Rublev gets ready to take on Felix Auger Aliassime tonight. Both players traveled a long road to finally secure a position in the finals of a tournament that seems cursed by injuries. Rublev and Aliassime now stand just one step behind to claim the glorious title that Carlos Alcaraz wasn’t able to defend due to, you guessed it, an injury. However, besides the glory, another perk that arouses the curiosity of the fans is the prize money.
Looking at the attractive numbers that hang to be claimed at the ATP Masters 1000 event, the total prize pool of the two-week tournament was €7,877,020. While this number showed an evident hike of 2.22% from the last year, the winner’s paycheck is decided to be €963,225, the same amount that Iga Swiatek claimed just hours ago.
However, it is still a win-win for both the finalists as the runner-up of the event takes home a €512,260 paycheck, which the defending champion Aryna Sabalenka went home with. However, besides a hike in the overall prize pools, the winner and runner-ups had to compromise with a lesser amount as compared to the last year.

Looking at the winner’s side, this year’s amount experienced a notable fall of 12.85%, making it quite less than what Carlos Alcaraz took home. Along with that, the runner-up’s amount also had to go through a drop of 11.68%, making it remarkably lesser than what Jan Lennard Struff received back in 2023.
However, despite the decrease in paychecks, the players still showed high levels of competitiveness, making the show a perfect hit. As both the players look forward to the last battle, it still remains to be seen who walks home with a bigger amount.

Will the 2023 doubles champion Andrey Rublev be able to crack it solo?
This isn’t the first time Andrey Rublev made it to the finals in Madrid. Back in 2023, the tennis star managed to sweep notable competitors to reach the doubles finals with Karen Khachanov by his side. The duo defeated Mathew Ebden and Rohan Bopanna in the finals and therefore emerged as champions.
On the other side, Felix Auger Aliassime walked in with glittering luck as two of his last opponents withdrew before or in the middle of the match. As Rublev looks forward to playing it solo this time and the Canadian moves in with the stars aligned to propel him in the game, it still remains to be seen who will claim the title this time.
