Rafael Nadal is a legend in the true sense, isn’t he? While his exploits on the court need no mention, the 22-time Grand Slam champion is soft at heart and is always eager to help out people in need. Recently, he showed another example of his kind-hearted nature during his round of 32 clash at the Madrid Open.

While Nadal was playing Pedro Cachin in that encounter, someone in the crowd fainted towards the end of the first set. Play was halted for a few minutes after the umpire spotted it and had a few words with the players. Subsequently, Nadal immediately asked his doctor, Angel Ruiz Cotorro, to help that fan out.

The video of the incident was shared by one of the fans on Twitter and it went viral as soon as it was posted. Nadal looked visibly concerned after coming to know about the incident and immediately pointed to his doctor, Cotorro, who was in the crowd and asked him to help out the fan.

This gesture from Nadal drew massive applause from the fans, showing why he is big at heart with this kind act. While the weather in Madrid has been pleasant over the last week, it is not known what caused the incident. However, in the end, the doctor wasn’t needed as the fan looked to gain his composure.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time we have seen Nadal winning hearts with his kind gestures. A few days back, he made a heartening admission about his son that raised several fans’ goosebumps.

Rafael Nadal wants to keep playing for his son

The Spanish legend welcomed his first child in October 2022, a son named Rafael Nadal Perello. With Nadal’s prime years on the tennis court behind him, the 22-time Grand Slam champion has one regret that his son might not remember him playing on the court. As a result, Nadal admitted to continue grinding it out in his tennis career.

He said, “Well I would like to play a little bit longer and give him a memory of myself playing tennis. That would be the ideal thing for me and for my wife and my family. Probably I will not be able to make that happen, but at least happy to have a great team and family and friends around me during almost, well, all my life.

However, Nadal has earlier admitted that the 2024 season will in all likelihood be the final one of his tennis career. Nonetheless, he will take it one step at a time and look to prolong his career to the extent he can.
