Darwin Blanch takes on Rafael Nadal in just a few moments from now! We’ve all seen the 16-year-old American tennis sensation’s hilarious ‘WTF’ reaction when he first came to know that he would face 5-time champion Rafael Nadal in his first match at the Madrid Open. Now, fans get the chance to see the other side of this youngster, which is far away from the confined walls of a tennis court. Recently, a video clip went viral in which Blanch was seen showcasing his singing skills. That too with a touch of Spanish flavor!

He was spotted singing the popular song ‘Si No Estas’ in a random video. This song was released in 2022 and it is sung by the famous Spanish musician Inigo Quintero. Within a few months of its release, the song went viral on Tik Tok and it also got featured on the Billboard Global 200. Don’t know whether Blanch was able to impress Rafael Nadal with the song. But he will surely have the chance to impress the tennis legend with his tennis on Thursday.

How does he feel about facing one of the greatest tennis players at such an early stage of his career? During an interview with ATPTour.com, Darwin Blanch said, “I’m really excited, obviously a little bit nervous. But I’m just really happy to be playing against Rafa. I’m ready to go out and just enjoy every moment.

He further went on to add that, “I know there’s going to be a lot of people and they’re going to be against me. Obviously, Miami helped me [get used to the big stage] a bit. But it’s always been a thing that I’ve liked playing with a crowd and I’ve always enjoyed that.” This year Blanch made his ATP tour debut at the Miami Open through a wildcard entry. Last year Serena Williams‘ former coach Rick Macci stated that Blach has a bright future ahead. He revealed that the 16-year-old has all the potential to become a future ATP star. And now, Macci is thrilled to see him face Rafael Nadal at such an early stage of his career. He posted an old photo of him and young Blanch and captioned it, saying, “Epic opportunity for Darwin as he plays his idol first round Madrid!!” Even during his debut at the Miami Open earlier this year Macci referred to him as “One of my all-time favorite students.
