‘Makes Tennis Feels So Small’ – Andy Roddick Joins Chris Evert in Congratulating Rafael Nadal on Becoming a Father

The year 2022 has undoubtedly been a joyful one for Rafael Nadal. While the Spaniard continues to dominate the game, at 36 years of age, he is also ready to get his successor into the world. If reports are to be believed,  Nadal and his wife, Maria Francisca announced their pregnancy.

The announcement, in no time, gained mileage with fans and tennis players like Chris Evert showering their wishes over the couple. Another former player to have wished Nadal is Andy Roddick.

Andy Roddick recalls his past while congratulating Nadal

The tennis world has been in distress for Nadal since his French Open triumph. Struggling with his foot, the former World No. 1 is taking all possible measures to get the worsening condition under control. Nadal’s pregnancy announcement came in as one of the biggest celebratory news for his fans.

“Tennis is a big part of life but I remember the first time we found out that we were pregnant. It just makes tennis feel so small. Congrats to Rafa and Maria and the rest of their extended family. We all know how close that family is,” the 2003 US Open champion said.

Prior to Roddick, Chris Evert also took to her Twitter handle, congratulating Nadal. Going all-heart for the Spanish sensation, Evert wrote, “What a lucky kid.”

Rafael Nadal to eye his 23rd major at 2022 Wimbledon?

After dominating the Australian Open and the French Open, the next in line for Nadal is the Wimbledon. However, with his foot far from being perfect, Nadal’s participation at the French Open remains doubtful.

Recently, the 22-time Grand Slam champion underwent a pulsed radiofrequency treatment on the nerves surrounding the injured area. With the treatment done, Nadal was recently spotted on the grass courts of Mallorca. As per reports, the two-time Wimbledon Champion was out on the court to see the usefulness of his treatment.

While Nadal has been practicing on the grass, his Wimbledon participation still remains a mystery. The 2022 Wimbledon Championship is set to begin on 27th June.
