Roger Federer gets a chocolate statue of himself

According to reports, Master chocolatier Jorge Cardoso is on the verge of completing a life-sized statue of Roger Federer, completely made out of chocolate. According to Cardoso, it will be ready for public view by Saturday in the Freiburg craftsman’s boutique.

“I should have them ready on Saturday. It will then be on public display in our shop on Rue de Lausanne in Fribourg,” Cardoso said (Google Translate).

“It is the first work of this magnitude that depicts the tennis player. Federer’s stature has been carefully studied to make it as realistic as possible. It is a great pleasure to honor one of the greatest athletes of our time,” Cardoso happily said.

Notably, this is not the first time Jorge Cardoso made a statue of a famous sports person. Previously, in 2017, he made a sculpture of a famous footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo. The sculpture was unveiled at the Madeira Airport, in the honor of the Portuguese soccer player. However, the sculpture received a lot of criticism from fans and other people for being inaccurate.

Federer currently has 103 career titles under his name, including 8 Wimbledon titles. This last run will potentially be Federer’s last run before he hangs up his racket. Undoubtedly, he would like to win at least one more Grand Slam to go out on a high, possibly his 9th Wimbledon title.
