The Mutua Madrid Open was recently slammed by the blame of nepotism. As the initial round of matches began to unveil the excitement, Spanish tennis star Alejandro Davidovich Fokina gained his first victory over Juncheng Shang from China. While everything seemed to be in order throughout the match, the Chinese opponent raised a major blame towards the authorities.

Davidovich Fokina, who managed to gain a massive 7-5, 6-3 win over his Chinese opponent, had to be in a line of doubt after the Chinese raised doubts about the match point. Pointing to the fact that the officials seemed to side with the Spaniard, Shang posted a story on Instagram, letting his thoughts out.

In the Instagram story, Shang posted a clip of the match point that caused him a set. The clip clearly showed that the ball hit the court two times and therefore, depicted his frustration for giving up the set despite the footage. Along with the clip, Shang also included a caption that said, “always nice to play a player that’s so honest.”

As the Chinese tennis star tagged Mutua Madrid Open’s official Instagram handle, he not only slammed the officials for the incorrect call but also indirectly pointed to the fact that they were being more inclined towards Fokina. However, now that the Spaniard has advanced to the next round, his opponent’s plea remains to be just a perspective, which may or may not be heard by the authorities.

With Alejandro Davidovich Fokina looking forward to his upcoming match against Andrey Rublev, it still remains to be seen if the chaos continue or gets some rest.

Besides posting a clip that revealed the truth about a double bounce that caused him a set, Juncheng Shand also picked up a fan comment to share. The comment, which slammed the authorities with a taunt, said, “Double bounce is new one bounce. Serve winner is new replay.”

The comment not only slammed the authorities by mentioning what they actually did but also accused them of causing confusion. Coming forward to drop another sarcastic response to the comment, Shang asked if it was an attempt of, “creating new rules?”

As the Chinese tennis star finds himself out of the tournament, the frustration he carried because of the fact that the chair umpire took a wrong call, seemed to be evident in his posts. However, it still remains to be seen if the officials start being more careful after this strong claim.
