The Miami Open is a tournament which always promises great action, and we recently got a sight of one such moment. Carlos Alcaraz is playing against Lorenzo Musetti, and the two are trading blow for blow. The Spaniard has to pull out all the stops as he aims to win against the Italian star, as Musetti showed him why he is a dominant player.

As Alcaraz served in the third game of the second set, Musetti returned each shot with purpose. After a few hits, he sent the ball to Alcaraz’s forehand, who took the opportunity to play it deep at his backhand. The Italian player managed to return the ball near the net as Alcaraz was already advancing, hoping to end the point early.

He played a drop shot, which Musetti had in the bag. He ran up to the ball and hit a front-facing tweener lob, which forced Alcaraz to run to the baseline and return with a tweener himself. However, Musetti would go on to end the point with a backhand volley, taking the game to deuce once again.

Tennis TV uploaded a video of the point to their ‘X’ page with the caption, “THE AUDACITY 😱 @carlosalcaraz&@Lorenzo1Musettiproducing some #MiamiOpen MAGIC 💫“.

The front-facing tweener was not a shot that was necessary here, but Musetti attempted it just for pure entertainment. However, it served to entertain the fans and help him close out the point against Alcaraz, who was proving difficult throughout the match. The Spaniard would eventually win the bout and leave Miami with an endearing message.

Alcaraz is gunning for the Sunshine Doubles as he stepped into the tournament after winning the Indian Wells Masters in a great fashion. After winning the clash against Miami, Alcaraz could not help but share an endearing message for the city. He wrote, “Miami vibes is crazy”, as he walked out of the court.
