Now, a twenty-one-year-old French ATP star has faced something similar during his recent match at the ongoing Miami Open.
Since tennis players go through a lot of physical exertion during their matches, extreme sun and heat can impact their energy. Australian Open attendees already spoke about the issue. A reliable tennis source recently shared a clip on their X (formerly Twitter), where fans spotted that Cazaux suddenly faints on the court while he was facing off against Harold Mayot. Fans spotted Cazaux lying down on the court for several minutes until the medic and the line umpire came to the sport to check on him. Sharing the clip, this reliable tennis source wrote- “Arthur Cazaux fainted in Miami and was forced to retire. Likely due to the heat. Scary scenes.”

This unfortunate incident grabbed the attention of many eminent personalities in tennis. The biographer of Roger Federer and famous tennis journalist, Christopher Clarey also tweeted expressing his feelings over such concerning issues. Clarey wrote- “Scary and unusual. Hope that Cazaux is fine and recovers quickly.”

Arthur Cazaux’s Miami Open incident triggered Jack Draper’s incident among the tennis fraternity
In an intense match against Marcos Giron, British ATP star Jack Draper faced something similar to this. Draper pushed himself to an ultimate limit for winning against Giron. However, post-victory, Draper was spotted rushing to a trash can and vomit right after shaking hands with Giron. Jack Draper managed to get a wide victory margin in the final sets of the match, but his condition afterward truly made his fans anxious over his health.
This British ATP star further said in an interview– “It was obviously a physical match. It’s tough conditions. It wasn’t that long for a five-set match, I’m still a young player, so getting used to the environment around these slams and the tension is difficult.”

After Jack Draper, Arthur Cazaux’s situation at the Miami Open concerned fans about the extreme heat weather of some of the famous tournaments. It also presents the need for the organization committee to take adequate measures to prevent such sickness of the tennis players.
