Being on the court in a high-tension environment is not easy for the players as well as the officials around them. This often leads to cases of losing temper between the two. And that is exactly what happened when Andrey Rublev lost his temper on the court and screamed at one of the officials in the ATP tour of Dubai.

However, what happened next was quite disappointing for Rublev. He was not only disqualified but his prize money and ranking points were taken away. But he appealed his DQ and there has been some progress in the matter now. Let’s find out all about that.

ATP has reinstated Andrey Rublev’s prize money and ranking points in Dubai

In a recent news update, it has been informed that Andrey Rublev was finally able to get some good news when it comes to his disqualification in Dubai at the ATP Tour. He had earlier lost his prize money and ranking points but now both have been reinstated.

He was supposed to win $157,755 as the prize money for reaching the semifinals. However, now he would have to pay the fine of $36,400 from the same amount because he yelled at an official during the match and got disqualified.

His 200 ranking points have also been given back to him so that his overall ranking is not affected during the tour. Tennis authorities have said that taking away all the money from the Rublev would have been disproportionate so they have decided to accept his appeal partially.

But this is not the first time, Rublev has lost his temper on court. Previously also he had lost his cool over a court assistant almost injuring him.

In 2022 at the French Open, Andrey Rublev was playing against Novak Djokovic. While playing the match, he lost the first round of the match due to which he lost his temper and threw the tennis ball aggressively on the court.

This not only is outrageous to be doing on the court but also ricocheted off the players’ chairs and almost hit one of the court assistants on the head. Even after doing this, he did not apologize for his action but continued to throw his water bottle in ager and then went to sit on his chair.
