It’s not even been a year since Federer’s retirement and we are already missing him. Over years, the Swiss Maestro made a reputation for himself. Roger Federer has been an icon and inspiration for the modern generation of players. One of Federer’s ardent fans is his former ATP colleague Thanasi Kokkinakis. The Aussie was fortunate enough to spend some time with the 20-time Grand Slam champion. Here’s what he recalls from the meeting.
Thanasi Kokkinakis on spending time with Roger Federer and his family
Australian tennis star Thanasi Kokkinakis crashed out of the Australian Open after a fighting defeat against British star Andy Murray. Kokkinakis said, “It was pretty incredible. He’s as good as he is on court. He’s an unbelievable guy off the court. He’s so chilled out, he loves to have a laugh when you hit… He took me and my coach and my training staff for lunch at the Burj Khalifa (the tallest building in the world) … and I met his two daughters.”
Speaking further about Federer’s daughters, the Aussie said, “They’re the cutest daughters. They’ve got little British accents, which is pretty funny, and they kind of look like mini Federers with long hair. It’s weird. He’s such a nice guys and I learned so much being there those two weeks.”
Federer has been a gentleman on and off the court. While one can break his on-court records, it will still be impossible to replace him in the tennis world.

Federer goes skiing after 15 years
The professional tennis calendar keeps players pretty busy, especially if you are one of the greatest players of all time. Roger Federer also has a liking for other sports which he loves to try his hands on. One of them is skiing. However, his busy tennis calendar meant that the legend didn’t get time often to go skiing.
Now that he has given up tennis, the Swiss Maestro finally went skiing after 15 long years. The 41-year-old recently shared a video of himself skiing with a Taylor Swift song in the background. While the fans applauded Federer for his choice of music, they also demanded a return to the tennis court from the 20-time Grand Slam champion.
