

36-year-old Ukrainian tennis player, Sergiy Stakhovsky, has been in the news quite often for showing his bravery for his country. A few weeks back, he joined the Ukrainian military reserves. Despite not having any military experience, his decision was truly commendable. Earlier, he asked Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic to help him and his country. Even though the Serb responded to him, Federer didn’t. However, that changed, as the Swiss player finally responded to Stakhovsky’s plea.

Roger Federer finally responded to Sergiy Stakhovsky
Known for his various charitable works, Roger Federer recently responded to Sergiy Stakhovsky. According to the Ukrainian, Roger wants to help all the Ukrainian children. The Swiss player also hopes that there would be peace soon. In a recent interview, Stakhovsky revealed what Federer said to him.
“He wishes that there would be peace soon And that he, Mirka, and his foundation are looking for ways to help the children in Ukraine and also to look after some in Switzerland,” Stakhovsky revealed what the Swiss player said.

Also, Stakhovsky made a lot of sacrifices, as he had to leave his wife and children to fight for his country. In various interviews, the tennis player spoke about his horrible experience on the field.

Incidentally, Stakhovsky’s one of the biggest wins of his career came against Roger Federer at the 2013 Wimbledon. He knocked out the Swiss player in the second round.
Novak Djokovic supported Stakhovsky earlier
At first, the Ukrainian player asked many players for help and Novak Djokovic was one of the first players to reach out to Stakhovsky. On Instagram, the Ukrainian tennis player posted a screenshot of his conversation with the 20-time Grand Slam winner, Novak Djokovic. From that picture, we saw Djokovic showing his support to Stakhovsky. In reply, the Ukrainian tennis player also wrote, “@djokernole… thank you for your support… Ukraine is grateful.”

Despite struggling with his own problems regarding the covid vaccine, this support from Novak was admirable. Meanwhile, Stakhovsky also posted a picture of his wife and children, as he promised to return to them very soon.
