Patrick Mouratoglou took to Instagram to break down Carlos’s play. The coach said, “He’s like a machine. He doesn’t have a weakness. He dictates with his forehand. But I think his backhand is amazing. With his backhand, it’s very difficult to turn and hit a forehand because his backhand is fast, flat and he can change direction at any time.”

He pointed out that even though he is not very tall, however, his serve is still good, if not impressive. He showed faith in the Spaniard and said, “I don’t see anything that would prevent him from potentially winning a slam anytime. As soon as Roland Garros this year.” He appreciated his improvement regarding his running forehand too, which he stated improved.
Comparison between Rafa and Carlos
The French coach then further elaborated on his comparison with Rafael Nadal. He said, “Firstly, they are both Spanish, secondly, they are super physical players. Third, mentally they are incredible. I think they have the same game style. Especially the Rafa of today, not when Rafa was the age of Alcaraz. I would say Alcaraz would be the modern version of Rafa. He further added their differences,”there is a lefty and righty and it makes a big difference.”
