Novak Djokovic‘s presence on the court has been quite limited this season. While the Serb decided to take some time off for his family after his exit from Indian Wells, it is now time for the fans to welcome him back. As the Miami Open gave fans new champions recently, players are now looking forward to making changes in their training routine, as the clay court season awaits.

In preparation for the upcoming tournaments, tennis stars Novak Djokovic and Holger Rune have resumed their annual tradition of hitting the courts together ahead of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters. Rune, who is currently preparing himself to bounce back from a recent setback in Miami, has been consuming advice from Djokovic, the current world No. 1.

Grabbing the attention of the fans with their practice sessions, Rune shared pictures of stretching his legs alongside Djokovic. Besides the jolly pictures, the young Dan also wrote a caption that said, “We keep the traditions, opening practice at Monte Carlo with @DjokerNole.”

Besides their off-court chemistry, the on-court battles have been intense, with Rune scoring a notable victory over Djokovic on clay in Rome last year. As both of them look forward to the upcoming events and gear up for other showdowns, their practice sessions are sure to fine-tune their skills and gain momentum for the challenges ahead.

While Djokovic holds a slight edge in their head-to-head encounters, Rune’s victory last year still establishes him as a formidable opponent on this surface. While Djokovic is suffering from a coaching issue.

Novak Djokovic unsure about his new coach amid clay-court preparations

While this practice session was targeted to get himself physically ready for the approaching clay-court season, the fact that Novak Djokovic currently stands with no main coach concerns the fans. While the Serb recently announced his separation from long-time coach Goran Ivanisevic, he appeared to be blank about the plans for getting a new coach in.

“I still don’t have a clear idea who a new coach would be, or whether there will be one at all,” Djokovic said, as the latest response to his coach mystery. Along with that, the world no.1 also hinted at staying by himself for a while, stating, “I’ve had coaches since I was a kid, now I am trying to feel by myself what I need, what I feel most comfortable with. You will be informed in case someone joins the team.”

While the tennis star currently has no plans to find a replacement for his coach, it still remains to be seen who he will be entering the clay court season with.
