Among all the players who have signed up for the tournament, Novak Djokovic‘s name stands to be a highlight as fans have missed his presence enough this season. While the tennis star recently parted ways with his long-time coach Goran Ivanisevic, the only name fans are currently looking forward to is Nenad Zimonjic.
In a recent turn of events, Djokovic, tapped his long-time friend and former Davis Cup captain, Nenad Zimonjic, to guide him through the Monte Carlo Masters and possibly beyond. Expressing his trust and admiration for coach and friend Zimonjic, Djokovic shared, “He’s been a friend for a long time… He always helped me, he was like a mentor, a big brother.”
Giving a deeper dive into the comfort and familiarity of their relationship, Djokovic revealed that their collaboration is rooted in mutual respect and understanding. “We notably won the ATP Cup together in 2020, we have always had good communication. I like the way he thinks about tennis, how he observes my game and that of others,” the Serb added.

“He was in Belgrade when I started my preparation on clay. I asked him if there was a chance he would be present for this session, he said yes. I asked him if he could come to Monaco, he said yes. We are there,” explained Djokovic. As the partnership continues to move ahead, targeting the upcoming tournaments, all the expectations lie on their shoulders.
