Sebastian Korda had a terrible season both on and off the court at the Monte-Carlo Masters. The 23-year-old suffered a defeat to Jannik Sinner, ending his singles category in the Monte Carlo tournament. But adding to that defeat, he also experienced a shocking incident prior to entering the court last week, undergoing a major loss at the tournament that included a robbery!
According to recent updates, on Thursday, April 4, two individuals stole a $319,615 Richard Mille watch from Sebastian Korda. The incident took place two days before the start of the tournament, as confirmed by Nice-Matin and verified by France Bleu Azur. The player was anticipated at a staircase that connects Avenue Varavilla and Avenue de France. It was not far from the courts, however, a duo wearing helmets stopped him and took his exquisite watch.
Both burglars took off swiftly on their scooters, and the police are still aggressively looking for them. The 27th American player on the ATP rankings, Sebastian Korda, later affirmed that he was far more stunned than injured. The Menton Police Station is handling the case as of now and is making sure such cases never happen again. The authorities are also investigating the athlete’s robbery, which was captured on camera.

To help police officials with their investigation into the occurrence, Korda, the Richard Mille ambassador, even gave them the case of the watch. The police are facing difficulties in solving the cases of numerous high-end watch thefts that have occurred on the French Riviera. Thirty robberies resembling the one Sebastian Korda experienced have occurred in the last several months, all recorded in the region’s western section alone.
