Tsitsipas has been playing well in Monte Carlo, especially with his big win against Alexander Zverev and Tomas Martin Etcheverry. This victory reminded everyone of his dominance on clay and how he’s done well in the previous versions of this tournament. Monte Carlo is a special place for Tsitsipas because he won his first Masters title there in 2021 and defended it successfully in 2022. But lately, he’s been having a hard time against the top players.

On the other side of the court, Khachanov recently defeated Daniil Medvedev and Francisco Cerundolo in Monte Carlo, showing how tough and determined he is in big tournaments, just like in Miami. Even though he’s won big titles before, like the Paris Masters, he’s never made it to the quarterfinals in Monte Carlo. Khachanov has beaten some of the best players in the world in Masters events, like Zverev and Djokovic. This shows he can compete with the very best, especially in important matches.

Tsitsipas vs Khachanov: Head-to-head

Looking at the head-to-head stats between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Karen Khachanov, the two have faced each other for a total of 8 times in their career so far. Leading the number with an amazing 7-1 streak, Tsitsipas stands to be way ahead of his Russian opponent.

Looking at their last showdown, the match was played last year at the Paris Masters in which Tsitsipas secured a win with a final scoreline of 6-3, 6-4. Therefore, this upcoming showdown is not just any regular match but an opportunity for Khachanov to complete his revenge.

Prediction: Tsitsipas to win in three sets

Looking at the previous records, Tsitsipas has won this tournament twice before, in 2021 and 2022, but somehow lost at this stage last year. His performance hasn’t been up to the mark in 2024, but if he beats Khachanov, it’ll be his second semifinal of 2024 and his first on clay. Being a resident of Monte Carlo, and being experienced in the courts can act as a plus point for him.

Karen Khachanov is ranked 17th, five spots lower than Tsitsipas. He’s reached the quarterfinals at Roland Garros twice before, but this is his first time making it to the last eight in Monte Carlo. This year, he won one ATP tournament on a hard court in Doha. However, he’s never made it to the final of an ATP Tour event on clay. It hasn’t been easy for him to reach this quarterfinal in Monte Carlo.
