Danish tennis player Holger Rune’s take on the Monte Carlo Masters organizing committee for their mismanagement of the match schedules has taken the internet by storm. However, following this act, Rune received major backlash as some fans trolled him asking him to stop crying. This happened right after Italy’s Jannik Sinner defeated the Danish ATP star. While some people are not ready to listen to Rune’s side of the story, this tennis prodigy lashed out at one troller with “very efficient” sarcasm.
Rune’s journey with the Monte Carlo Masters tournament has been hectic so far. After two matches last Thursday with Sumit Nagal and Grigor Dimitrov, this twenty-year-old tennis star had a conflict with the second match’s line umpire. However, trollers still ran after him, and one person advised him- “Real champions don’t cry like this. Lesson # 1”. Replying to the trollers back, Rune wrote on his official X (formerly Twitter) that- “Hi. If I want to cry , I cry. If I want to scream , I scream. That’s me And by the way , I never cry. This post was mainly mentioning that it’s probably the shortest tournament I had in a long time in Europe and still 3 matches . Very efficient.”

Well, this conflict started taking shape when the ATP’s official Twitter page posted about Jannik Sinner saying “May the force be with you, @janniksin.” After a while, Rune reposted the tweet with a message that said- “Meaning what @atptour…..? Not that you gave me the best conditions in the first place, having to play 2 matches the day before ending late, leaving almost no recovery time.”

Rune’s loss against Sinner might drop his career ranking from the top ten list of ATP rankings. A reliable tennis source(Tennis365.com) said- “Friday’s result will mean that thanks to a drop of 400 points and some of his closest rivals performing well this week, Rune will drop outside the top 10 of the ATP Rankings come Monday.” Despite that, Sinner’s compliment showcases Rune’s skills and tennis brilliance.
