Two top-seeded participants, Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev, will be starting their respective campaigns today in this esteemed ATP Masters 1000 event. However, the tennis community’s excitement to witness the likes of Djokovic and Zverev might now turn into disappointment due to the weather conditions in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France.

In concerning news for the fans eager to see the opening round fixtures, the Weather Channel recently issued their 10-day weather forecast for Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Alpes-Maritimes, France. The likelihood of rain is 60% throughout the day and 60% at night, according to the forecast.  With locally heavier rainfall expected at night, there might also be a potential disruption due to thunderstorms.

Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev will play their opening round matches on Court Rainier III in the Monte Carlo Country Club. As the main center court is not covered, both the top-seeded players will have to wait for the weather conditions to improve a lot in the event of rain and thunderstorms. After his lackluster performances at the Indian Wells Masters, the Serbian tennis star will now look to make amends at this clay court tournament. Entering the Monte Carlo Masters as the number one seed, the 2-time champion Novak Djokovic will lock horns with the unseeded Russian Roman Safiullin, who recently defeated the Spaniard Jaume Munar in the round of 64.

Alexander Zverev, on the other hand, is coming to the ATP Masters 1000 event after his semifinal finish at the Miami Open.
