Ever since the French Open singles draw was released, the anticipation grew higher as Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic were expected to meet in the quarter-finals. While few fans were disappointed that this matchup came as early as the quarters, others hoped that both the stars would make it to the last eight to give the world one more showdown at Roland Garros.

As expected, both Nadal and Djokovic entered the French Open quarters without much difficulty but the scheduling of this match is what’s causing a lot of buzz among tennis fans. It’s a known fact that the Spaniard prefers to play the match during day time while Djokovic expects the match to happen at night.

Tuesday French Open schedule features Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic at night

Ahead of the release of the Tuesday’s schedule at Roland Garros, Djokovic pointed out that the French Open authorities will take a call on what works for the television audience. His prediction came true as the officials have announced that this highly anticipated matchup will take place at 8.45 pm local time on Tuesday.

It’s evident that the French Open organizers want more traction to this Djokovic-Nadal match as they even decided to broadcast the same for free across Prime Video mobile and web applications.

“I prefer to play during the day. In the end, I mostly know RG as a day tournament, while very little with night session, and that’s the way I’ve played it for most of my career and, obviously, I like playing during the day more.”
