After retiring from tennis, Andy Roddick turned his whole focus to his foundation. Starting from raising funds to helping move the needle in sports and education, the Andy Roddick Foundation does it all. But recently, as a proud part of the foundation, the 41-year-old American tennis legend has been having a tough time mourning the loss of the beloved singer Jimmy Buffett.

Andy Roddick’s emotional message for Jimmy Buffett
Although both of them came from very different fields, the two Americans were certainly an odd pairing, but they banded together for a good cause. The American songwriter was a huge part of the retired tennis player’s foundation and even performed at some of its major gala events. The 2003 US Open champion recently took to his Twitter account to pay tribute to the “Margaritaville” singer.
We will miss you Jimmy Buffett. We lost one of the good ones. I will always appreciate your support of @theARFoundation . Your legacy will live on in so many great ways. RIP my friend

Right off the bat, a collaboration between the tennis star and the stellar crooner seems unlikely. But there seems to be common ground after all between the 130mph server and the southern-style singer. In fact, the late 76-year-old singer was a proud part of the fifth Andy Roddick Foundation Charity Gala that took place nearly 13 years ago, setting the foundation for their longstanding relationship?

13 years ago, Buffett supported The Andy Roddick Foundation
The onetime Grand Slam champion is reportedly among those people who have always shut down the crowd whenever he heard “Margaritaville”. Buffett and his Coral Reefer band also participated in the “Fifth Annual Andy Roddick Foundation Charity Gala” to entertain guests at the event.
During that charity gala, the 76-year-old singer also auctioned off two VIP tickets to his event, raising today’s money for the foundation’s efforts. In addition, not only was the US singer a part of the foundation, but he was also someone who helped Roddick draw a great connection with music, especially his songs.
