The tennis community was already disappointed to hear about Rafael Nadal‘s withdrawal from the Monte Carlo Masters. While the Spaniard had to drop out of the tournament because of his back injury, the baton of expectations was handed over to the rising star Carlos Alcaraz.

Amid the preparations for his inaugural match at the clay court tournament, the tennis star has been visibly facing issues in his right forearm. Alcaraz took a break after winning the Indian Wells title and now that he is back, the injury scare follows him, as almost all of his forehands during today’s practice sessions ended badly. Is the Monte Carlo curse striking again?

Adding more proof, the tennis star has also been spotted with a support bandage on his arm, giving a deeper idea of a possible injury that might cause a hindrance in the upcoming tournament. While there’s still no word of an injury from him or his coaching team, it still remains to be seen if this is just because of regular fatigue or a serious issue.

However, this isn’t the first time when Carlos Alcaraz had to face a hindrance on his run for the Monte Carlo Masters. Connecting the dots to the previous versions of the tournament, the tennis star faced a disappointing R1 defeat back in 2022 against Sebastian Korda.

In 2023, the Spaniard had to withdraw from the tournament as a precautionary measure because of discomfort in playing. While this curse of facing setbacks despite showing a dominant performance in previous tournaments like the Indian Wells Masters and Miami Open continues, fans consider it something more than just coincidence.
