What caused Ben Shelton’s defeat in Paris?
Following his opening-round loss to Davidovich Fokina, Shelton vented out his frustration on the tennis balls used at the Paris Masters. The balls used across the tournaments lately have been different in quality and their weight has caused discomfort to the players.
Talking about it, he said, “Usually don’t have arm issue, but 5th tournament in a row playing with a different ball. I am definitely feelin it this week.”
Subsequently, he received support from the tennis community as journalist Jose Morgado backed him on his outcry. Ben Shelton will be looking to come back strongly in the upcoming tournaments. It’ll be interesting to see if he can finish off his season on a high.
