During his time, American great Andy Roddick reached some of his highest peaks in tennis. Turning pro in 2000, the 39-year-old has 32 singles titles to his name. Apart from that, he has also been the top-ranked player in the ATP rankings. Having a performance to remember in place, Roddick is well versed with all the technical detailing of the game. Like most of the tennis community right now, Roddick is also looking forward to watching Roland Garros. Waiting for the final showdown, Roddick is currently following the ATP 250 Estoril Open. Yesterday, while watching the second-round clash between Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Bernabe Zapata Miralles, Roddick took to his Twitter, putting up a tweet.

It is presumed that a social media post by a former player during an ongoing match will be directed toward the gameplay of both the players. However, the tweet by Roddick had a different story. Instead of talking about the match, the former US Open champion opted to give his insights on the camera angle.

As per Roddick, the camera angle set gave the viewers the room to digest the movement, spins, and the pace of the game. Uploading a short video of the match to show the camera angle, Roddick captioned the post “These lower camera angles do tennis so much more justice ……. Movement, spins, pace, speed all so much easier to digest from this angle”

Roddick’ rise to success

Turning pro in 2000, Roddick won his first tour title the very next year at the Atlanta Open. The same year, he also won two other titles. Rising in his footsteps, Roddick further won 2 titles in 2022. Looking at the stats, the next year, 2003, is considered the most successful year for Roddick in his entire career. In 2003, Roddick won 6 singles titles, one of which being the US Open. The same year, he also became the World No. 1.

In the years that followed, Roddick won several other titles, going neck to neck against the biggest players of the sport. Retiring in 2012, Roddick now invests most of his precious time towards the Andy Roddick Foundation.
