Agassi reveals his disdain for tennis
While speaking with the podcast’s host, he shed some light on how strong a disconnect he had with the sport of tennis in the beginning. He continued, “I was the youngest of four children. You know my father, let’s just call him very intense, to say the least. And he saw tennis as the fastest road to the American dream, you know, so he was pushing without even caring if it was compromising relationships.”

Agassi noted this because he was the youngest of them and had to bear the brunt of the strain. He could, however, observe how tennis was hurting his family’s ties.
Citing the most significant controversy in his book “Open,” which appeared on page one, Agassi said, “I didn’t choose tennis, you know, my father sort of imposed it on me.” He admitted that he felt even more resentment as his father sent him to a tennis academy at the tender age of 13. Due to this, he felt abandoned, separated, and left out.
