Andre Agassi’s ex-wife and famous American actor Brooke Shields in her last book, “There Was a Little Girl: The Real Story of My Mother and Me,” describes her tumultuous relationship with her mother, who perished two years before the book was published. In the book, she talked in detail about her struggles with her mother and how she brook free from her mother.

She also wrote about her unsuccessful marriage with the eighth grand slam champion, tennis star Andre Agassi and their divorce. However, the book basically focuses on the actor and her mother struggling in life.

Andre Agassi’s ex-wife credits him for her freedom

Despite all her problems with her then-husband, Andre Agassi, there was a time when she was grateful for his support and the way he helped her live a normal life. In her book, she gave the tennis star’s support a tonne of credit for enabling him to set free from her own mother.

According to her, their whole relationship was a necessity for her to know her own worth. She said, “He gave me my first taste of freedom from my mom. He swept me away. You’d say something and it would happen. There would be a plane or if I said ‘I can’t believe I have termites,’ within 24 hours, the house would be tented.” She spoke frankly about the tennis player’s actions and how he offered her a sense of freedom.

Adding, she said, “He is a devoted person, sweet and good but he had this demon, this affliction. But the other side, and what makes this so hard, is the way he welcomed me and my mother and anybody I loved. He is a really good human being.” The actor claimed that he was a wonderful guy and that only his demon side was responsible for the issues that she and Agassi faced.

Brooke Shields regretted marrying Agassi

In the same memoir, the 57-year-old actress wrote how she felt after marrying the tennis star. She made a point of saying that she knew she was doing the wrong thing and realized it after being married to him. They got married in the year 1997 and after two years of being married, they got divorced in 1999.

However, after that, the eight-time grand slam champion found love once again. In 2001, he wed former tennis player Steffi Graf. The couple has two children; their older son plays baseball and is carrying on their parents’ pro sports talent.
