With the Clay Court season culminating, the focus is on the grass major now. With Wimbledon lining up, players are getting in shape to adapt their playstyle from clay to grass. While many were battling it out on the clay court, Andy Murray had warmed up to the grass. He even won an ATP challenger event in England and left with an endearing message for his wife and children.

With Murray’s win in the Surbiton trophy, another player of the big four wins an ATP event. Novak Djokovic won the French Open which became his 23rd grand slam victory. After his win against Casper Ruud, Djokovic has the ultimate bragging rights in the ATP.

Andy Murray endearing speech for children

From 2019 to 2022, Murray did not win any titles. Injuries and hip surgeries, unfortunately, made him a shadow of his old self. But Murray was able to bring some fight back on the court by the end of 2022. He reached his first final since 2019. This year, Murray has gone a step beyond and clinched two ATP Challenger titles.

First, he won the Aix-en-Provence Challenger, and recently, Murray won the Surbiton Trophy on the grass court. After his win against Jurij Rodionov in straight sets. In the speech at the finals, Murray was elated at winning and gave a speech meant for his wife and children

He stated that it was great for him to win another trophy this year, especially when his kids asked if he would bring a trophy home. “It’s brilliant to win another one. My kids are always asking me when I go away if I come home with a trophy and that’s been rare these last few years.”

He continued by saying while they, unfortunately, missed the end of the match, he would be bringing a trophy home. “They actually came two minutes before the rain came my wife had to take them back home. So they’ve missed the end of the match but I think they’re watching on the TV so Sophia, Edie, Teddy, and Lola – I hope you’re watching and I’ll bring you home a trophy tonight.”

Novak Djokovic’s victory marks another big four triumph

Prior to Murray’s win, the Serbian tennis legend was the one who lifted a trophy. With his record 23rd grand slam, the Djoker sits now at the top of the ATP. He faced Casper Ruud in the final and won in straight sets with a score of 7-6, 6-3, 7-5.

The Serb and the Briton won the tournaments to mark more titles to the list of the big four titles. With them still on tour, many more will definitely come this year.
